Jean-Michel Dayez was born near Valenciennes in the north of France. He graduated from the Valenciennes and Lille Conservatoires, then joined Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden’s class at the Brussels Royal Conservatory in 1997. A year later he graduated with flying colours and was awarded the
Special Jury Prize. In 1998, he was admitted to the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elizabeth where he studied for three years and graduated with the highest
honours.
His repertoire ranges from Bach to Berio, and he is the pianist of the Leos trio founded in 2013 with Guillaume Lafeuille and Pablo Schatzman. He also takes part in numerous recitals with singers, with instrumentalists and with orchestra, and has frequently been to India as part of Artie’s festival.
