Prayatna Film & Dance Festival 2014 is an annual event celebrating Contemporary Dance in India. In its 6th year the festival is scheduled from the 25th April to 29th April 2014. The celebration is organized by the Hrishikesh’s Centre of Contemporary Dance in association with the Max Mueller Bhavan, supported by Alliance Française de Pune and the BMC Software.
The Gati Dance Forum, New Delhi is an independent arts organization that works in the field of contemporary dance in India. Founded in 2007 in response to the needs of the professional dance community, The Gati Dance Forum has actively searched for avenues to develop greater opportunities and infrastructure for contemporary dance.
Gati Summer Dance Residency, New Delhi is an annual 10-week residency that provides emerging dance choreo-graphers in India with an opportunity to create and stage their own performance.
Festival Director Hrishikesh Pawar, is an acclaimed dancer and choreographer who has studied Kathak and later pursued Contemporary Dance in Germany. He is highly skilled in creating inter disciplinary work which has traveled all across India, USA, Europe and England. He is presently based in Pune.
The evening will bring selected artists from the 2009 to 2013 residencies who will present their work created during the intensive weeks sharing, creating and reflections.
