Traveller, entrepreneur, explorer, Gauthier Herrmann is not your typical musician. In 2001, Gauthier Herrmann discovered India. This trip gave birth to Arties adventure, a slightly crazy project summed up by two words at the heart of modern day classical music – family and enterprise. His focus and determination has led him to being held in high regards on the classical musical circuit, receiving high awards (with the Trio con Fuoco, laureates at the Florence, Heerlen, Illzach, Vibrarte and Fnapec music competitions) and being highly regarded by leading musicians (Henri Demarquette, Gábor Takács, György Kurtág, Marcel Bardon, Paul Boufil). In 2009, Gauthier worked with his trio at the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth in Belgium under the great teaching of the Artemis quartet. Constantly travelling, Gauthier’s current projects are numerous – he wants to see his family grown, defend his group of musicians, pursuing his Arties dream, and ensure he never stops enterprising.
