  14 No. 2\, Piano Sonata No. 30 in E major Op. 109\; Berio: Erdenklavier\,
  Wasserklavier\, Luftklavier\, Feuerklavier (From Six Encores) and Schuman
 n: Fantasie in C major Op. 17\n\nAndreas Haefliger was born into a disting
 uished Swiss musical family and grew up in Germany\, going on to study at 
 the Juilliard School in New York. With his formidable technique and musica
 lity\, and his innate sense of architecture and phrasing\, he was quickly 
 recognised as a pianist of the first rank. Haefliger is much sought-after 
 as a chamber musician\, and for his latest project gathers friends such as
  Benjamin Schmid (violin) and Christian Poltera (cello) for concerts in Co
 penhagen at the Louisiana Museum and at the prestigious Stiftskonzerte ser
 ies in Austria where in 2015\, he also plays a duo recital with Ian Bostri
 dge. Over the years he has collaborated regularly with Matthias Goerne\, w
 ith whom in 2013\, he released Schubert songs on Harmonia Mundi in 2013 an
 d performed at the Wigmore Hall\; also the Takacs Quartet\, with whom he m
 ost recently played at the Mostly Mozart Festival in New York\; and his wi
 fe\, the distinguished flautist Marina Piccinini. After the enormous succe
 ss of his first recording of Mozart Sonatas for Sony Classical\, Haefliger
  made three further recordings for Sony of Schumann’s Davidsbündlertanz
 e and Fantasiestücke\, Schubert Impromptus\, and a disc of music by Sofia
  Gubaidulina.\n\n
