e à rayonnement régional de Dijon (France) and subsequently studied unde
r Christophe Poiget. He obtained his Master’s degree in 2018 at Conserva
toire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse where he studied under Ro
land Daugareil. After studying at the Academy of the Orchestre Philharmoni
que de Radio France and the Academy of the Orchestre de Paris\, he became
a member of the Orchestre National de France and this was followed promp
tly by a position as assistant concertmaster with the Orchestre Philharmo
nique de Radio France. He was appointed concertmaster in January 2023. Nat
han has won various International prizes. In 2018 he won the Second Senio
r Prize at the prestigious Menuhin Competition along with the Arte Concer
t Online Prize\, the Composer Award (prize for contemporary music composed
just for the competition) and the Jonathan Moulds Award for Outstanding P
otential.\n\nEmma Gibout began playing the violin at the Pau Conservatory
with Claire Zarembowitch where she obtained a first prize for violin with
honours in 2015. She then studied at the CRR in Boulogne-Billancourt with
Christophe Poiget before returning to the CNSM in Lyon in the class of Mar
ianne Piketty\, Manuel Solans\, Dominique Lonca and Jennifer Gilbert. She
obtained a DNSPM license there in 2019 and is currently pursuing her maste
r’s studies at the Hochschule ‘Hanns Eisler’ in Berlin with Ulf Wall
in. Emma Gibout is the winner of several International competitions: she w
on 3rd prize in the ‘Marie Cantagrill’ competition in 2012 then 1st pr
ize in the ‘Arthur Grumiaux’ International competition in Brussels in
2018. Passionate about the orchestra\, she joined the Orchestre Français
des Jeunes in 2014 and 2016\, then the Verbier Festival Orchestra in 2017\
, of which she became concertmaster from 2018 which allows her to play und
er the baton of the greatest conductors such as Simon Rattle\, Valery Gerg
 iev\, Manfred Honeck\, Esa-Pekka Salonen\, Daniel Harding\, Antonio Pappan
 o. Recently\, she has been appointed concertmaster of Orchestre National d
 u Capitole de Toulouse.\n\nViolaine Despeyroux: ‘I consider music as a j
ourney\, a moment suspended in time\, which is different with each interpr
etation. The listeners will be guided simply into a story that we create t
ogether.’ This conception of musical interpretation as a unique and imme
rsive moment of sharing is the basis of Violaine Despeyroux’s artistic p
ractice. This young viola player\, much sought after as a chamber musician
and soloist\, stands out on stage\, with her personality and energy\, bot
h precise and electrifying.\n\nViolaine Despeyroux has been awarded the 1s
t prize at the National Competition for Young Violists and the 2nd prize a
nd prize for the best Bach performance at the International Competition of
viola Cecil Aronowitz in Birmingham amongst others. With passion and tena
city\, she can be found in the prestigious European and International musi
c halls: the Victoria Hall in Geneva\, the Seiji Ozawa Hall in Tanglewood
(USA)\, the Théâtre des Champs Elysées in Paris or the Palais des Beaux
-arts in Brussels\, alongside renowned partners like Renaud Capuçon\, Gar
y Hoffman\, Claire Désert\, Suyoen Kim\, Alexandra Soumm and the Smoking
Josephine Ensemble. As a soloist\, Violaine Despeyroux has performed in Fr
ance\, Italy and Belgium with conductors such as Vahan Mardirossian and Ia
 n Fountain.\n\nTraveller\, entrepreneur\, ultra-trailer\, Gauthier Herrman
n isn’t your typical musician. A cellist with a passion for small ensemb
les and chamber music\, Gauthier is laureate of International competitions
  in Florence (Italy)\, Heerlen (Netherlands)\, Illzach\, Vibrarte\, Fnapec
(France). He is also a finisher of crazy races\, such as La Diagonale des
fous in La Reunion\, the 100km of Millau\, the Oisons Trail Tour… In 20
01\, Gauthier discovered India. It was from this moment on that Artie’s
adventures were born\, a slightly crazy project that could be summarized a
 s follows: music\, kindness\, curiosity and enterprise. Around Gauthier\,
a plethora of musician friends crystallized\, who would travel the world\
, under his leadership and his artistic direction. Gauthier has had the pl
easure of performing in more than 50 countries and in particular of develo
ping recurring projects in India\, China\, Saudi Arabia\, Kuwait\, Vietnam
\, Indonesia\, Kazakhstan\, Nepal and of course Europe. In 2012\, Gauthier
  founded a production company\, LdB-prod (or Louis de Beethoven)\, a Fren
ch tribute to his musical idol. LdB-prod imagines and offers seasons of ch
amber music with an assumed ambition: to reestablish intimacy between the
room and the stage\, to bring the artists closer to their audience. Gauthi
er plays a magnificent cello by the Italian maker Giuseppe Rocca (Turin\,
1853)\, placed in his hands by the Eisenberg Fund.\n\nRalph de Souza was b
orn in Bombay and began violin lessons from an early age with his father\,
  and later with Melbourne Halloween. His father\, a doctor\, was a self-ta
ught violin fanatic who gave impromptu violin lessons to any little childr
en who come ringing his doorbell\, and whose other distinguished pupil was
Ralph’s brother Harvey. Ralph’s mother could not stand the sound of t
he violin\, not only because there were violins and bows cluttering up all
corners of their home\, but mainly because she “lost” both her sons t
o musical careers in the West. Ralph was brought up speaking English as it
was the only language in common between his Chinese mother and Indian fat
her. His father chose the name to give his mother plenty of practice with
the difficult consonants R and L! Ralph was put on a plane by himself at t
he age of ten to go to the Yehudi Menuhin School\, where he found himself
sharing a room with Messrs. Garfield Jackson and Nigel Kennedy. Having sur
vived this culture shock he then went to the Curtis Institute in the USA t
o study with Ivan Galamian and Jaime Laredo.\n\nIn 1977 he won the Royal O
verseas League Competition in London\, and his solo career included appear
ances with Yehudi Menuhin. In 1985\, Ralph spent the summer playing chambe
r music at Marlboro and became determined to turn to professional quartet-
playing. By coincidence\, very soon after\, there came out of the blue the
phone call which led him eventually to join the Endellion String Quartet
in 1986 (and return to a cricket-playing country). He has been a sought-af
ter chamber musician\, and has had a close association with the Internatio
nal Musicians’ Seminar in Prussia Cove\, starting in his student days wh
en he was deeply influenced by Sándor Végh. He also returned to the Menu
hin School for several years as a teacher. Keen to offer something back to
India\, he was involved as co-artistic director with the ‘Sangat’ Mus
ic Festival in Mumbai and now returns regularly to work with members of th
e SOI Chamber Orchestra\, encouraging them to play Chamber Music.\n\n
