  Fantasy\, Impromptu Op. 90 No. 1 D 899Barry Douglas has established a maj
 or international career since winning the Gold Medal at the 1986 Tchaikovs
 ky International Piano Competition\, Moscow. Barry has recently embarked o
 n a monumental recording project with Chandos Records &ndash\; to record t
 he complete works for solo piano of Brahms and Schubert. Having developed 
 a wealth of musical experience in his 35-year career\, Barry now feels the
  time is right to undertake this colossal project. The first disc of works
  by Brahms was released to critical acclaim in March 2012. The interesting
  programming of each disc\, which has already garnered much critical prais
 e\, presents each album as a stand-alone recital\, providing a varied and 
 engaging listening experience. Future plans include a play/direct project 
 in which Barry will record both Brahms Piano Concerti with the BBC Symphon
 y Orchestra. As Artistic Director of Camerata Ireland and the Clandeboye F
 estival\, he continues to celebrate his Irish heritage whilst also maintai
 ning a busy international touring schedule. Barry founded Camerata Ireland
  in 1999 to celebrate and nurture the cream of young Irish talent. The ens
 emble is made up of musicians from both Northern and the Republic of Irela
 nd and has acquired a reputation for excellence. Barry Douglas received th
 e Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2002 New Year&rsquo\;s Honours 
 List for services to music.
