DESCRIPTION:In a programme of Schumann: Geister Variations\, Davidsbündler
 tänze Op. 6 and Beethoven: Sonata Op. 28 "Pastoral"\n\nGabriele Carcano\,
  recipient of a 2010 Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship Award\, is a pianis
 t equally at home in recital\, as a soloist with orchestras and in chamber
  music. Praised by the SüddeutscheZeitung as a "sculptor of sound" and "a
 esthete" after his Munich debut at the Herkulessaal\, Gabriele is the winn
 er of numerous awards\, including the Casella Prize at the Competition Pre
 mioVenezia\, where he made his debut at Teatro La Fenice. He has been supp
 orted by the CRT Foundation\, De Sono Foundation and was also awarded a gr
 ant from the Fondation des BanquesPopulairesFrançaises - Natexis in 2008.
 \n\nAt the invitation of Mitsuko Uchida\, he participated in the Marlboro 
 Festival during the summers of 2010 through 2012. In 2012 and 2013\, he wa
 s featured on Musicians from Marlboro tours\, performing at venues and ser
 ies such as the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia\, the Gardner Museum Concert
 s in Boston and at the People's Symphony Concerts in New York.\n\nHighligh
 ts of 2017 included recitals and chamber music concerts in Berlin\, Frankf
 urt\, Perugia\, Pordenone and Turin\, his return engagements at the Firenz
 e and Padova Amici dellaMusica\, at the Marlboro Music Festival (concerts 
 in Montréal\, New Jersey\, New York\, Toronto\, a.o.)\, the Societa del Q
 uartetto di Milano\, the Tonhalle Zurich and his recital debut at the Tong
 yeong Concert Hall in South Korea.\n\nIn summer 2016\, Carcano released hi
 s first CD with early works by Johannes Brahms for the label Oehms Classic
 s. For the recording he received great critical acclaim and the supersonic
  award by Pizzicato.\n\n&nbsp\;
