 etz was a legend in his lifetime. He made his debut in his native Russia a
 t the age of seven playing Mendelssohn&rsquo\;s Violin Concerto and at the
  age of sixteen at Carnegie Hall in New York. In 1925\, Heifetz became a U
 S citizen and never lost his patriotism. This film traces Heifetz&rsquo\;s
  early life\, the war years\, his talent as an actor\, composer\, pianist 
 and his later years in Malibu with commentary by fellow violinists\, his n
 umerous students\, companions and biographers. This film shows rare footag
 e never seen before.
