In a programme of music by Debussy, Ravel, Michel Legrand, Gershwin and other popular composers
American – Brazilian oboist Harold Emert’s visit to Pune in 1987 and a concert at Gulati Hall for The Poona Music Society, has remained etched in his memory. He wrote about his travels and experiences in an extensive article published in Musical America in November 1987.
Recently, he reconnected with our Society and has been able to send us some of his recordings made at concerts in Brazil.
This concert was professionally filmed for TV Brazil and broadcasted by the TV station.
He is joined here by Brazilian pianist João Carlos Assis Brasil in a very varied programme of French music, as well as music from the Americas arranged for oboe and piano.
