DESCRIPTION:Lina Bellard\, harp\, Brindha Manickavasakan\, vocals and Aswin
 i Srinivasan\, mridangam\n\nFrench harpist and singer Lina Bellard’s wor
 k is influenced by three cultural areas\; the riches of modal music in Sou
 th India\, the strength of traditional dances from Poitou and her own cult
 ural heritage from Périgord.\n\nThis programme is a result of a collabora
 tion that Lina has had with vocalist Brindha Manickavasakan and the younge
 st professional female mridangist\, Aswini Srinivasan.\n\nPlucking Ragams 
 is an amalgamation of breathtaking and diverse compositions\, bound by a c
 ommon love for melody and rhythm\, and is a project which is part of the B
 onjour India festival of 2022.\n\nA musician from Brittany\, France\, harp
 ist and singer\, Lina Bellard reinvests in her work\, the influences of th
 ree other cultural areas. The South India where she spent her childhood\, 
 probably made her aware of the specific riches of modal music. She then di
 scovered in the Poitou of her adolescence the strength of traditional danc
 es. The Périgord\, where her family is from\, is the third part of her cu
 ltural heritage that she invests in. In 2011\, she trained under the artis
 tic direction of singer Erik Marchand\, then obtained a fellowship grant a
 llowing her to follow the musical education and personalized artistic advi
 ce of Titi Robin.\n\nBrindha Manickavasakan is a performing vocalist in In
 dian Classical Carnatic Music. She has been performing for the past 17 yea
 rs. She is currently undergoing advanced training under vidushi Smt. Sugun
 a Varadachari. A master's degree holder in Biostatistics from Georgetown U
 niversity and Music from Madras University\, she is presently pursuing her
  PhD in music at Madras University. An A graded artist of All India Radio\
 , Brindha regularly performs in Chennai\, all over India\, many countries 
 including the US and across the Gulf.\n\nAswini Srinivasan is the youngest
  professional girl Mridangist in India. She started her training in Mridan
 gam from Padmashri Dr. T. K. Murthy. Aswini has performed more than 1800 c
 oncerts all over India and abroad. She has received many prestigious award
 s and accolades and also won many prizes.\n\n\n\n
