 Rossini and Verdi composed music for piano\, Primarily known for their ope
 ras\, the piano music of these composers is now gaining in popularity. Ren
 dano and Caetani were Romantic composers. Rendano is more famous for being
  the inventor of the third pedal of the modern piano. Caetani was from a a
 ristocratic family and was a music lover thanks to the influence of his fa
 ther. Caetani composed piano\, chamber and symphonic music which became qu
 ite popular\, even in his lifetime. Dalapiccola is definitely one of Italy
 ’s most famous 20th century composers who adopted the 12 tone technique.

 sique\, the Diapason d’Or and Chamber Music CD of the Month in the UK’
 s Classic FM magazine.\n\nIn September 2011\, Prosseda gave his debut on t
 he pedal piano\, performing the Concerto for Pedal Piano by Gounod in the 
 world premiere in modern times. He has given more than 50 concerts with th
 e pedal piano\, rediscovering the original compositions by Robert Schumann
 \, Franz Liszt and Charles Valentin Alkan. Several composers\, including E
 nnio Morricone\, have already written new pieces for pedal piano for Rober
 to Prosseda\, and a recording of Gounod's four pieces for pedal piano and 
 orchestra with the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana conducted by Howard S
 helley was released on the Hyperion label in 2013. Roberto Prosseda is als
 o very active in musical divulgation. He wrote the book “Il Pianoforte
 ” for Edizioni Curci (2013) and made three documentaries dedicated to Me
