Sanjeev Chimmalgi, vocal                           Hindol Deb, sitar
Vinayak Netke, tabla                                    Christian Ramond, double-bass

Indian and western improvisational concepts stimulate each other, and original compositions based on the tradition of European polyphony are enriched by the melodic qualities of the tabla. Harmonic progressions act as an inspiring challenge for the voice and the sitar. The cooperation of the five artists leads to a creation of fresh, subtle and exciting sounds, which I would like to call "Contemporary Indo-European Chamber Music" – Jarry Singla

In his original music, the Indo-German pianist and composer Jarry Singla combines European musical traditions, not only with a variety of jazz-styles, but also with classical and folk music drawn from non-European musical cultures. Jarry’s compositions include pieces for his ensemble with the renowned British saxophonist Julian Argüelles, as well as music for jazz trio and symphony orchestra.

Sanjeev Chimmalgi is one of the most prominent and promising Hindustani classical singers of the new generation. He has been singing professionally since his early twenties and has performed all over India and in the US, the UK and Spain. His concerts are noted for their fluidity and grace; his forte being a highly sophisticated treatment of the Raga and the delicacy of his approach to both svar and bol.

Hindol Deb is one of the most promising young sitar players based in Mumbai and a versatile composer as well. Having started learning the sitar at the age of 5, he is deeply rooted in the Hindustani classical music tradition. Hindol has also been exploring the infinite combinations in the crossover of Indian music with various other genres like contemporary western classical, Jazz, Blues, Flamenco, Nordic folk, Balkan and African music.

Vinayak Netke started learning the tabla at the age of five under the tutelage of Acharya Jialal Vasant. Vinayak still continues his training and exploration of the tabla under his Guru, Pt. Shri Arvindji Mulgaonkar of Farukhabad Gharana. He has accompanied several acclaimed musicians in concerts all over India and abroad, as well as in their recorded albums.

The double-bass player Christian Ramond can undoubtedly be considered one of the most important German bassists and therefore is constantly in demand. Currently, Christian lives in Cologne, where he was educated at the College of Music. He received a scholarship for the renowned jazz workshop at the Banff Centre for the Arts in Canada.
