 started studying the piano at the age of five with Russian pianist\, who w
 as brought up with the Neuhaus-school in St. Petersburg\, Prof. Mag. Nina 
 Igudesman. From the age of 17 onwards\, after graduating high school a yea
 r early\, renowned pianist and pedagogue Prof. Pavel Gililov was her teach
 er.\n\nFor many years\, Engel also took private lessons with Austrian pian
 ist and author Paul Badura-Skoda. Further inspiration came from masterclas
 ses with Matti Raekallio\, Rena Sharon\, and Mihaela Ursuleasa\, as well a
 s regular singing and conducting lessons.\n\nJudith Valerie is currently p
 ursuing a doctorate in Historical Musicology at the University of Oxford. 
 Her research at Oxford focusses on Viennese composer Marianna Martines\, p
 aying particular attention to the socio-cultural significance of a Classic
 al woman composer.\n\n
