 Boston\, MA) is an all-female string group which consists of Laura Cortese
  (Fiddle\, Voice)\, Mariel Vandersteel (Fiddle\, Voice) and Valerie Thomps
 on (Cello\, Voice) brought together by the love of traditional American mu
 sic and the many ways it can be expressed in a chamber-folk setting. With 
 their feet solidly grounded in traditional fiddle styles\, they reach for 
 the sky with their original compositions\, arrangements and interpretation
 s of Old-Time\, Bluegrass\, Country\, and Celtic music. This trio goes fro
 m hard-driving tunes to heart-breaking songs of Americana deftly and with 
 the sensitivity of players beyond their years. The Acoustic Project has to
 ured the U.S. and Europe\, performing in every imaginable setting from far
 mers&rsquo\; markets to music festivals\, and house concerts to concert ha
 lls\, while hosting workshops on fiddling\, grooving\, dancing and singing
  in between. All members of the Acoustic Project are scholarship recipient
 s and graduates of Berklee College of Music.
