SUMMARY:Lisbeth Quartett
DESCRIPTION:Lisbeth Quartett\, which has been founded in 2009\, is an inter
 nationally acclaimed Jazz band consisting of four German musicians. It is 
 led by the Brooklyn- based saxophonist and composer Charlotte Greve. The a
 ward-winning musicians have released five albums so far\, their latest alb
 um from 2017 is called ‘There Is Only Make’. It is known for its multi
 -faceted pieces that oscillate between quiet passages and vigorous intensi
 fication. The members of the Quartett have been described as virtuosi who 
 demonstrate highly mature Jazz.\n\nIn association with Goethe Institute (M
 ax Mueller Bhavan\, Pune)\n\nCharlotte Greve&nbsp\;is a Brooklyn-based alt
 o saxophonist and composer originally from Germany. With a unique concept 
 of tone and composition\, she is making a mark on both the Brooklyn and Ge
 rman jazz scenes. Her band Lisbeth Quartett\, has released five albums so 
 far. The second and fifth one of these was awarded the Echo Jazz Prize in 
 2012 and 2018. Charlotte’s Brooklyn-based band Wood River released their
  Debut LP in February 2015 and in 2017 collaborated with a 60 piece choir 
 to perform the premiere of "Sediments We Move"\, a piece written by Greve.
  Further projects in New York are the Alto Saxophone quartet "Asterids" wi
 th Alto colleagues Caroline Davis\, Oscar Noriega and Caleb Curtis\, a tri
 o with Vinnie Sperrazza and Chris Tordini called "The Choir Invisible" and
  the ambient Duo "Sooner" with guitarist and bassist Simon Jermyn. As a si
 dewoman Charlotte appears regularly in different bands such as "Matt Pavol
 ka’s Horns Band"\, Vinnie Sperrazza’s "Apocryphal" and Marta Sanchez
 ’ "Room Tales".&nbsp\;\n\nManuel Schmiedel&nbsp\;lives and works in New 
 York City. Since relocating from Berlin\, he has become a notable figure o
 n NYC’s vibrant Jazz scene and is regularly performing in local clubs an
 d touring abroad.&nbsp\;He has been a sought after pianist for years and g
 ained public attention by his collaborations with US jazz greats\, such as
 &nbsp\;Kurt&nbsp\;Rosenwinkel&nbsp\;and&nbsp\;Dayna Stephens. Most recentl
 y\, he has been stepping into the limelight as a leader of his own trio an
 d his collaborative European ensemble “Limbo”.\n\nIgor Spallati\nBorn 
 in Perugia (Italy)\, started playing clarinet at the age of 11. At 15 he s
 witched to electric bass and at 19 to Double bass. He studied classical ba
 ss 2005-2009 with&nbsp\;Silvio Bruni. After that he was at the "Walter Sta
 ufer " Academy in Cremona with Franco Petracchi to continue his classical 
 training. He moved to Berlin in 2010 to study Jazz Double Bass with Greg C
 ohen\, John Hollenbeck and Kurt Rosenwinkel. He played with Joe Chambers\,
  Billy Hart\, Nasheet Waits and many more.\n\nMoritz Baumgärtner\nBaumgä
 rtner was a founding member of Charlotte Greve's Lisbeth Quartett in 2009.
  He also belongs to the Nu Jazz band Melt Trio to the two brothers Peter a
 nd Bernhard Meyer\, with whom he released in 2011 the album Melt and 2013 
 Hymnolia. He also accompanies Johanna Borchert\, Johannes Bigge and Philip
 p Gropper and went on tour with the Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra. Baum
 gärtner performed with Perry Robinson\, Kurt Rosenwinkel\, Theo Bleckmann
  and many more. He has performed internationally on concert tours and has 
 performed at international festivals such as Jazz Baltica\, the Moers Fest
 ival\, the Jazzfest Berlin and more.\n\n\n\n
