She first studied at the L isbon Conservatory then continued her studies in Germany\, first at the Mu nich Music Academy then in Hanover with Karl Engel. Maria Joã\;o Pir es has appeared worldwide with all the major orchestras. She is a keen per former of chamber music and in recent years\, she has been heard at all th e major international festivals. She gives recitals in Japan\, Germany\, S olignac\, Warsaw\, Lucerne and Wigmore Hall\, London. Maria Joã\;o P ires has an extensive discography. Future projects include Beethoven Piano Concertos 3 and 4 with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra/Harding on th e Onyx label\, due for release in autumn 2014.Julien Brocal started learni ng the piano at the age of 5 and performed on stage at the Salle Cortot in Paris at the age of 7 years. He studied with Erik Berchot at the Conserva toire National de Ré\;gion de Marseille and with Rena Shereshevskaya at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris Alfred Cortot. Maria Joã\; o Pires heard him in January 2013 at the Cité\; de la Musique in Par is and invited him to develop artistic projects in residence at the Chapel le Musicale Reine Elisabeth and to participate from the starting of the Pa rtitura Project in 2014. Julien plays regularly from an early age in Franc e and abroad.
