Marouan Benabdallah is one of the foremost representatives of his native Morocco on the international stage. Trained in Hungary at the Liszt Academy, he has the distinction of being an exponent of the Hungarian school of piano playing, specialising not only in the music of Liszt, Bartók and Kodaly, but also of Rachmaninoff, Debussy and many other composers. For years he has been developing repertoire that goes beyond the canonic works of the literature he has performed to great acclaim, to include music from the Middle East and North Africa. During this Arabesque concert, Marouan will perform some of the remarkable finds from his explorations, with music by composers from Syria, Algeria, Lebanon, United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Morocco.
