Estampes literally means engraving. These 3 pieces by Debussy composed in 1903 are prime examples of impressionism in music.
Just like the French painters created impressionistic works visually, Debussy created these impressions with sounds.
Marouan Benabdallah talks a bit before the recital, explaining the history of each piece in the set.
