 programme of Antonín Dvořák: Waltzes Op. 54\; String quintet Op. 18 and
  Franz Lachner: String quintet Op. 121\n\n\n\nHannah Sophie Wagner\, violi
 n\nOlga Becker\, violin\nConstanze Marggraf\, viola\nMartin Fuchs\, cello\
 nGünter Fischer\, double bass\n\nIn 1988\, five musicians from the Wurtte
 mberg Philharmonic Orchestra in Reutlingen (South Germany)\, decided to cr
 eate a rather special string quintet\, with two violins\, one viola\, one 
 cello and one double bass\, to explore new directions next to their orches
 tral activities and develop projects that would take them a long way from 
 the usual duties of classically trained musicians.\n\nAccording to Südwes
 trundfunk Radio 2 (one of the leading classical music radio stations in Ge
 rmany) they cross over the boundaries between serious and light music. Wha
 t used to be light is now serious\, what is light today will be serious to
 morrow. Therefore the only criterion\, quality\, is the motto of this grou
 p\, a motto to which they have always been faithful. They are not afraid o
 f novelty which\, together with creativity\, governs their activities. The
 ir programs are always carefully researched and constructed.\n\n
