 \n\nIn August 2006\, the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) fo
 rmed The Symphony Orchestra of India (SOI)\, the country’s first profess
 ional symphony orchestra\, offering a series of concerts in Mumbai over th
 e course of two seasons each year\, in September and February.\n\nMarek Sz
 lezer's pianistic career started when as a twelve-year old he received Gra
 nd Prix at the 4th International Piano Competition in Rome. Since then\, t
 he pianist has actively performed in Poland and abroad\, participating in 
 many important and prestigious music events. He received a royal scholarsh
 ip in Belgium for the academic year 2004/2005 to study at the renowned Que
 en Elisabeth Music Chapel with A. Rahman El Bacha. His consummate performa
 nces of Chopin’s music have won him numerous prizes.\n\nPiotr Borkowski 
 was born in Warsaw and is a pupil of Boguslaw Madey. A graduate of the Cho
 pin Music Academy in Warsaw\, he was awarded a distinction for conducting 
 the Warsaw National Philharmonic for his diploma concert (1989)\, followed
  by an assistantship in the Department of Conducting at his Alma Mater and
  doctorate (PhD in Conducting\, 1997). Presently\, he is the Music Directo
 r of the United Chamber Orchestra and First Guest Conductor of the Kammers
 olisten der Deutschen Oper Berlin.
