  Cultural Academy\, formed in 1984\, is the realization of a dream which b
 egan as The Stop-Gaps Choral Ensemble\, under the direction of its conduct
 or\, Alfred J. D'Souza. The performances of The Stop-Gaps and its effort a
 t fostering and promoting international music have been lauded by both\, p
 ress and public. Its repertoire ranges from serious classical to effervesc
 ent jazz and pop. Not only has the generation gap been bridged\, but relig
 ious\, economic and social barriers have also been broken down through son
 g. The choir has participated in many international choir festivals. Every
  year\, The Stop-Gaps has a festival of Festive Music in Mumbai with choir
 s participating from all over India. This concert is specially presented t
 o celebrate 150 years of Furtados\, who have played a very important role 
 in promoting the musical life of musicians in India.\n\n
