 are inextricably linked with Western classical music\, especially from the
  mid-18th to the mid-20th century before popular recorded music became wid
 ely available and affordable. Join us for an interactive exploration of th
 is evolution with students and faculty of German literature at Savitribai 
 Phule University in association with The Poona Music Society. Anjan Ray\, 
 a multidisciplinary professional and former radio anchor\, will moderate t
 he session.\n\nDr. Anjan Ray\, who is formally trained as a scientist\, ha
 s had an association of nearly four decades with media and music. He has b
 een a music compère at All India Radio Delhi and Mumbai\, module coordina
 tor and faculty for broadcast journalism at Xavier Institute of Communicat
 ions Mumbai\, and has conducted workshops on classical music awareness and
  history since the early 1990s. Currently\, he hosts a weekly music podcas
 t\, ‘Saturday Sundowner Symphony.’\n\n\n\n\n\nIn association with the
