 mble founded in 1986 by Françoise Lasserre. The initial group of singers 
 were formed from members of Philippe Herreweghe's Chapelle Royale. The ens
 emble are frequent performers at France's major early music festivals such
  as the Ambronay Festival. Several of the groups recordings have been made
  in cooperation with La Fenice directed by Jean Tubéry.\n\nThe Ensemble A
 kadêmia’s primary goal is to present both major and unknown vocal and i
 nstrumental works of the 17th century. Led by director Françoise Lasserre
 \, the ensemble frequently performs the pieces of composer Heinrich Schüt
 z\, having already recorded five of his works. Apart from Schütz\, Lasser
 re also has shown a great interest in the works of Monteverdi. Akadêmia h
 as an ongoing commitment to the discovery and nurturing of young vocal and
  instrumental talents.\n\nOver the past few years\, Akadêmia has develope
 d outreach programmes aiming at three principal publics: spectators\, amat
 eur musicians and children.
