 nod's Faust Op. 20A native of Beijing\, Dan Zhu made his first public appe
 arance at the age of nine\, performing Mendelssohn&rsquo\;s Violin Concert
 o with the China Youth Chamber Orchestra. At age twelve he entered the Cen
 tral Conservatory of Music in Beijing\, where he studied with Xiao-zhi Hua
 ng. He has won several prestigious international competitions\, including 
 Brussel&rsquo\;s Queen Elisabeth\, Montr&eacute\;al\, Sendai and the China
  International. He has appeared as a soloist with many renowned orchestras
  and is an active chamber musician. Dan Zhu currently plays a 1763 Carlo A
 ntonio Testore violin\, on generous loan from the Alexis Gregory Foundatio
 n. Born in 1974 in Espoo\, Finland\, Paavali Jumppanen began to play the p
 iano at the age of five at the Espoo Music Institute\, where he studied wi
 th Marja Huhtamaki and Katarina Nummi. Jumppanen frequently gives solo rec
 itals and has performed numerous times in the prominent concert halls of P
 aris\, New York\, Vienna and London. He has appeared at numerous internati
 onal music festivals. Jumppanen has performed the complete Piano Concerto 
 cycle by Beethoven with the Symphony Orchestra of the city of Kuopio\, Fin
 land and during the 2003-04 season\, he performed the complete Beethoven V
 iolin Sonatas with violinist Corey Cerovsek at the Gardner Museum in Bosto
 n. Mr. Jumppanen also frequently performs large cycles of solo piano music
