This is a programme of Songs without Words. The cello being the closest instrument to the human voice, Songs written for the human voice can easily be transcribed for cello.
Zoltan Onczay is a graduate of the Liszt Academy and has also studied with some of the great cellists of our time. He was member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, Mannheim Chamber Orchestra and Budapest Sextet.
He joins his friend, pianist Marouan Benabdallah, also a graduate of the Liszt Academy. Marouan is a true friend of the Poona Music Society and does not need much introduction here in Pune.
