About this event

Laurent Manaud-Pallas is the first soloist at the Orchestre National de France. He is also the principal violinist at the Orchestre de Pau Pays de Béarn. Laurent Manaud-Pallas plays a 1842 violin from Vissenaire.

Mathilde Borsarello Herrmann started studying the violin from the age of five with her father. After being awarded the first prize in Suzanne Gessner’s class, she later studied chamber music with Paul Boufil and joined the violin class of Patrice Fontanarosa and Jean-Jacques Kantarow at the Paris Conservatoire.

Cécile Grassi liked chamber music at an early age and founded Psophos Quartet in 1997 with which she won numerous international prizes. It was the First French Quartet selected for the prestigious New Generation Artists BBC Radio 3 in London and in 2005 awarded “Best Ensemble of the Year” at the Victoires de la Musique. The quartet has recorded many discs.

Emmanuel Christien is one of France’s most diverse young pianists who is in great demand. Emmanuel graduated in piano, chamber music and vocal accompaniment. He won several awards in International competitions for piano, like Casagrande (Italy) and Perlemuter (France).

Gauthier Herrmann started studying cello at the age of eight with Nicole Daihnaut. In 1998, he joined the class of Marcel Bardon in the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris (CNR) where he obtained a first prize in cello in 2000. Gauthier started visiting India in 2001 and in 2008, created Arties Festival which has brought outstanding musicians from Europe to play chamber music in India.
