Maurizio Baglini is a leading Italian pianist who has won numerous prizes in competitions and has appeared with many orchestras and in chamber music. His wide discography on Decca includes the complete Bach-Busoni transcriptions, solo piano works of Chopin, Schumann, Mussorgsky and Liszt, cello sonatas of Brahms and Rachmaninoff and concertos of Bach and Haydn.
This is the first in a series of 6 concerts specially commissioned by the Italian Embassy Cultural Centre, Mumbai Section in association with The Poona Music Society to present online concerts for Indian audiences.
The recordings were made at Teatro Sociale in Rovigo and present a wide range of Italian music by Italian musicians.
