Mozart’s clarinet quintet is one of the most important pieces in the clarinet repertoire. Originally written for basset clarinet and dedicated to Anton Stadler, in contemporary performances it is usually played on a Clarinet in A.
Olivier Patey has been many times to India as part of Artie’s festival. He is currently, the principal clarinet of Concertgebouw orchestra and along with his wife Diet Tilanus and other colleagues from the Concertgebouw orchestra in Amsterdam, they have recorded this performance and have kindly sent it to us.
