19-year-old Tanay Joshi hails from Ahmedabad where he has been studying piano, keyboard, violin, guitar, percussion and music theory with Saurin Upadhyay at Vibration Academy of Music since he was 4 years of age. Gifted musically as well as academically, Tanay has completed his first year of engineering at DAIICT, Gandhinagar.
In 2011, at the age of 17, he obtained the DipABRSM, Diploma in Piano Performance. In the same year, he was a finalist at Con Brio, The All India John Gomes Memorial Piano Competition. Following this success, he was invited to participate at workshops and masterclasses conducted by visiting teachers. In November 2012, he was selected as the Young Musician of the Year – 2013, the first in an annual series of awards, instituted by the Olga and Jules Craen Foundation.
